This month is another healthy dose of rough-around-the-edges guitar music care of the Bitters' killer debut LP and Las Robertas out of Costa Rica. Karl Blau's "Spin Around" is a shifty snake of a tune that makes excellent use of a reverb-drenched and reversed trumpet which may sound a little out of place coming after the Nation of Ulysses' old-school DC hardcore classic "Today I Met the Girl I'm Going to Marry." Also: more Old Music From Around the World with Yuzo Kayama and his mean Japanese surf guitar, as well as Kim Sun's otherworldly "The Man Who Must Leave."

Big ups to the homie Aquarium Drunkard, who's been providing a pretty sick education in awesome surf music lately. His latest find is the amazing (and adorable) Yuzo Kayama. Homie was a Japanese big-screen hunk, a serious actor who was in a Kurosawa movie, and he got to play with the freakin Ventures.



I seriously cannot believe this dude wasn't anywhere on the Kill Bill soundtrack. It's like Quentin went back in time and created a band just for himself.
