Joizey indie-rock legends Yo La Tengo are having a good 2009: releasing not only one of the best albums of the year, but one of the best of their catalog with Popular Songs.



Hopping across the river for a performance on P4k's "Don't Look Down," Ira Kaplan and co. recorded a groovy, smoldering rendition of lead-track "Here to Fall," with the always-tight rhythm section uncoiling a lockstep psyched-out groove while Ira makes far more noise than you'd expect a keyboard and a single wah pedal could.

Video: New Yo La Tengo - Nothing to Hide

Yo La Tengo's forthcoming Popular Songs LP is already shaping up to be one of the best of the year, based on previous single "Periodically Double or Triple," and now "Nothing to Hide," recorded live on French television.



A poster on Stereogum's comment page for "Periodically..." tipped everyone off to the weird and unfriendly French site where you can watch the video.
