video: weed diamond/dash jacket/tan dollar july tour doc

Anyone with their ear to the ground this summer probably caught some of the epic little Weed Diamond/Dash Jacket/Tan Dollar west coast tour that went down in July. Said tour brought me one of my summer show highlights when I caught the kickoff show at Acrobatics Everyday. It was Weed Diamond's closing number, and I--front and center, popping-and-locking in ways that wouldn't be seen again till FYF--got to shake the fucking tambourine during "All of Denver is Wasted." It was more than a little transcendental, and all the better for it being caught on video and shared with the world. Look for it 6:35 in Part 1 of the tour doc, which you can see below.

new weed diamond demos

Berkeley, CA. Dawn. The streets are vibrating. Long canopied lanes contract and accordion in pleasing ways. Next to 7-11, the drummer from Weed Diamond ollies the curb. True story.

The homies at Weekly Tape Deck posted up some sweet new demos from the band. They aren't slated to appear on anything yet but I can never resist any excuse to spread more music from these dudes around.

new song: weed diamond - mint in my mouth

Back from a long water + laptop related hiatus, returned from an old music binge the likes of which haven't been seen since the height of Eleventh Grade. Greeting me as I return to the world of the living is this awesome new Weed Diamond track. Their new EP Carry On comes to us via the homie Kevin Greenspon & his stellar Bridgetown Records imprint, responsible for some of the brighter shards of pop gold glinting in the summer sun of 2010. Which is my way of saying sorry for not hitting you up Kevin, I would totally like to meet up at a show sometime. Ariel Pink on 9/11? Holla at'cha boy.

new music: Weed Diamond

Holy Fucking Shit. That dream I had about Animal Collective and Titus Andronicus jamming in my bedroom has come true.

The Rocky Mountain State's Weed Diamond have got a 7'' release on Transparent coming up at the end of the month, but as with all Transparent releases, both sides are available to listen to at their store right now. "Snowmelt" especially is an instant classic, giving me a sensation I can most clearly describe as "bounding through a forest." Not skipping, or walking, or jogging. Fuckin bouding. Listen:
