Best Thing Ever: Dark Was the Night Live

Aaron and Bryce Dessner's Dark Was the Night comp, a shoe-in to top critics' year-end lists (yup, even in a year with Veckatimest), came to life earlier this month at Radio City Music Hall, with David Byrne, Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver, the National, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, My Brightest Diamond, and Feist showing up to lend a hand on tracks from the record.

Hey there. DAVID BYRNE

NPR has (most of) the show streaming on the All Songs Considered podcast.

Video: New National - Runaway Live on Q TV

In the spirit of following Matt Ward's invaluable advice on "Sad, Sad Song," in2cb brings you the National, playing some weepy new material for the CBC's Q TV.

Titled (for the moment) "Runaway," the new song is admittedly sort of dull, though it features some pretty brass and a lilting piano that's comforting/devastating in a "Green Gloves" sort of way.
